Hello, world! As part of our House Of The Scorpion novel study, we engaged in a Harkness discussion. You can listen to it above. To make it successful, we had to keep the quieter people in our group active in the conversation. We did this by asking open-ended questions that required more than a yes or no answer. We also had to keep the more talkative people in our group in mind. Luckily, no one talked too much. If you listen to the recording, you can probably agree that the beginning of the conversation was our most engaging part. Everyone was talking and sharing their ideas. For the next conversation, it is a good idea to make sure nobody is cut off by anyone else, and that someone is always talking, so we don't get dead air.
